July 2 - Looking Up! - Daisies seem to embrace the sun. -- Luke 12:27-28 “Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?”

October 11 - First SnowAs the first snow of the season blanketed the Northland, I couldn't help but notice a vibrant red maple leaf that had fallen and was now embedded in the snow. It stood out against the white backdrop, a symbol of the changing season. The leaf was a reminder that as the trees shed their leaves and the temperature drops, winter is just around the corner. Despite the cold, there was a certain beauty in the contrast of the bright red leaf against the freshly fallen snow, making for a picturesque scene. And the seasons come and go, and so do the photo opportunities of life here in the Northland."For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted" Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

January is a month filled when ice and snow, with incredible scenery everywhere you look. You don't have to leave your yard to photograph exciting pieces of nature necessarily. This image was captured by mounting my camera to a microscope, with everything outside the cold weather and light snowfall. A single flake is isolated and laid onto a microscope slide. When you first focus on the snow crystal, there is an incredible moment of awe as you first see the flake close up.From whose womb did the ice come forth, and who has given birth to the frost of heaven? Job 38:29 God created this hidden beauty to reveal Himself to us in His creation. We only have to stop and consider.

Tettegouche is one of Minnesota's most beautiful state parks. It features a mile of Lake Superior coast, including the Baptism River mouth; the river's cascades and falls; four inland lakes; rugged semimountainous reliefs; and an undisturbed northern hardwood forest.

Twin Falls is located near the town of Port Wing Wisconsin on Highway 13. It is one of those hidden away places that you can usually go to and no one is there. Water slips over the brown sandstone cliffs onto several ledges before finally reaching the pool below. Moss growing on the walls of the waterfall adds color and texture to the layered stone. This waterfall, with the right amount of water and the right amount of skylight, is one of the most beautiful in the Lake Superior Basin, and is certainly deserving of it's own exhibit.

June 21 - Shy Guy!A curious whitetail deer peeks out behind a branch to look into a camera lens.As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. Psalm 42-1God created the hidden beauty within the forest for our pleasure and His glory!
